“My work is a visual manifestation of my path to understanding the language of the heart.”

About the Artist

Carolina Gåio, known professionally as the HEARTIST, is a thirty three year old mixed media visual artist living and working in Miami.

Her mission is to inspire people to trust their guts, listen to their hearts and live up to their full potential guided by their intuition however that looks like to each one of us.

Her work is a visual manifestation of a path to understanding the language of the heart. It reflects the very teachings of the heart illustrated to evoke deep contemporary reflections about our human mission here on earth as individuals and as a collective.

As a mixed media artist her paintings can feature a full spectrum of materials but the most outstanding one is gold, not just for its economic value but especially for its symbolism.

For the alchemists, transforming lead into gold was an art of purification on a material and spiritual level. To HEARTIST using gold brings to the surface all of these ancient values. To her, gold is sacred, powerful and holds deep mysteries as contemporary research indicates that it comes from outer space and was brought here via asteroid collisions.

HEARTIST graduated art school in 2011. There she acquired a valuable fine arts background from years of complete dedication to gather new skills and knowledge at University.

Her first specialty and passion were printmaking techniques like engraving, etching and screenprinting. That certainly leaves aesthetic remnants on her current mixed media practice and invites endless possibilities which she likes to explore along with the human heart as the main object of her study and fascination either through literal representation or as a concept.
